PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent adhesion of mist to a liquid drop ejection head. SOLUTION: A projection 44 is projecting from the end of an ink drop ejection surface 20A toward a sheet P. When the distance between the ink drop ejection surface 20A and the sheet P is varied partially by providing a recording head 20 with the projection 44, air flow generated as the recording head 20 or the sheet P moves does not flow in parallel with the ink drop ejection surface 20A but advances as so-called turbulence. Consequently, mist generated when ink is ejected from each recording head 20 does not flow in parallel with the sheet P but flows as turbulence toward an absorber 40 located above the ink drop ejection surface 20A and captured in the downstream of print direction. Consequently, mist generated from different kinds of liquid drop has no risk of adhering to the ink drop ejection surface 20A of the recording head 20. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
