Media holding assistance for a step-wise media transport system in a digital printer

A media holding assistance device is disclosed for holding the media during transport steps and printing steps in a digital printer. This ensures high accuracy during the transport steps and printing steps by providing extra holding force of the receiver on moving or static tables. The device is especially needed when printing on heavy or porous materials. The assistance can be given by rollers, clamps or styli contacting the printing medium.
