PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drum type washing machine having a high lint collecting performance and eliminating any possibility of water leakage. SOLUTION: This drum type washing machine is provided with: a water receiving tub 12 rotatably incorporating and supporting a rotary drum 11, which is so installed in a box-type outer frame 1 as to upward incline the direction of the rotation central axis of the rotary drum of the front side; a circulating pump 16 set below the water receiving tub and generating washing circulation water formed by sucking wash water accumulated in the water receiving tub from the lower part in the rear side end of the water receiving tub and inpouring it to the inside of the rotary drum; and a lint catching means 5 for catching the lint from the washing circulation water, positioned above the water receiving tub and attached to the outer frame in such a manner as being exposed to the front face of the outer frame.
