<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of obtaining an image of desired quality by a simple method. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes an image forming means P for forming a toner image on a recording material S, a plurality of pairs of fixing rollers 32a and 32b provided for fixing the toner image, a glossiness detection sensor 52 for detecting an image state on a recording material having the toner image fixed thereon, and a controller 200 for controlling fixing conditions of the plurality of pairs of fixing rollers 32a and 32b and is provided with a first image check mode of fixing the toner image by one pair of fixing rollers 32a out of the plurality of pairs of fixing rollers 32a and 32b and a second image check mode of fixing the toner image by the plurality of pairs of fixing rollers 32a and 32b. The controller 200 selects whether the second image check mode should be executed or not on the basis of a detection result of the glossiness detection sensor 52 which detects the image state on a recording material S on which the toner image formed by the first image check mode has been fixed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
