Device includes a conductive component which blocks or allows the transmission of energy by electromagnetic waves to the antenna of the transponder. The conductive component may also be provided with an RF receiver that allows information to be retrieved indicating if a reading device is pointed at the transponder. The conductive component may comprise metal or alloy foil or laminate. The component may be in the form of a mesh, a foil, a perforated foil etc.
