PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a swab for collecting a specimen, devised for collecting loose feces or even ordinary hard feces, and a case for collection the specimen provided with the swab in the same. SOLUTION: The swab is characterized by constituting, such that at the tip of the shank, a soft part is formed with the soft material with a hygroscopic property, and also the hard part is constituted with a cage-like body formed by a hard material, such as synthetic plastic provided with a large grating.
