PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inkjet image forming device and a method with less gap distance variation in drawing capable of being stably retained, thereby excellent in dot position accuracy, capable of performing constant dot diameter drawing and always performing stable delivery and further not damaging a head. SOLUTION: The inkjet image forming device has an ink delivery part for delivering an ink toward a recording medium and is provided with an image forming means for depositing the delivered ink on the recording medium to form an image; a conveying means for conveying the recording medium to the image forming means; and a selection means arranged on an upstream side in a conveying direction of the recording medium and selecting the recording medium having a deformation amount of a predetermined value or less as a recording medium applied for image formation.
