PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for plotting an identification code, by which the clear identification code having high durability can be formed on a substrate by using a simple facility, and to provide the substrate, a display module and electronic equipment. SOLUTION: This method for plotting the identification code comprises the steps of: cleaning a code plotting area on the rear surface of the substrate 10 for constituting electronic equipment by a cleaning apparatus; subjecting the cleaned code plotting area to water-repellency treatment by discharging a liquid water-repellent from a water-repellency treatment apparatus; discharging an ink droplet Ia of metallic ink, in which a fine metallic particle P of a metal or a metal oxide is dispersed, to the water-repellent code plotting area from a nozzle 57 of a liquid droplet discharge head 55 on the basis of liquid droplet discharge data for plotting a two-dimensional code; and heat-treating the ink droplet Ia stuck to the substrate 10 by a heating apparatus.
