PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic EL device of which moisture absorbing agent is prevented from spreading over an adhesive agent applied area, wherein a substrate on which a light emitting element is formed and a sealing cap are stuck by adhesive agent, and a moisture absorbing agent film is formed by applying moisture absorbing agent solution on inner face of the sealing cap. SOLUTION: A glass substrate 12, on which a light emitting element is formed, and the sealing cap are adhered by an adhesive agent. On the sealing cap 11, a recess-shaped part 113 and a convex-shaped part 114 are formed between a convex-shaped part 111 on which the adhesive agent is applied and a recess-shaped part 112 on which a moisture absorbing agent film 21 is formed by heating and hardening the moisture absorbing agent solution. When applying the moisture absorbing agent solution on the recess-shaped part 112, even if the moisture absorbing agent solution spreads outside the recess-shaped part 112 by vibration of the sealing cap 11 or the like, it does not go further than forming a moisture absorbing film 211 on a face opposed to a substrate 12 of the convex-shaped part 114, and does not spread over a face of the convex-shaped part 111 on which the adhesive agent 14 is to be applied.
