PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an upper feeding device of sewing machine which does not require any replacing of connecting members and can be applied to a variety of objects to be sewn. SOLUTION: The upper feeding device 1 of sewing machine is provided with an upper feeding leg 3 which moves in a specified direction and feeds the object to be sewn while being in contact with the object placed on a needle plate 2 from above, a holding leg 4 which holds form the above the object towards the needle plate 2, a first operation mechanism 5 which causes reciprocating movements in up and down directions of the upper feeding leg 3 and the holding leg 4 in opposite phases against each other, and a second operation mechanism 9 which causes reciprocating movements of the upper feeding leg 3 in a prescribed direction. The upper feeding device of sewing machine is equipped with a connecting member 6 with the first operation mechanism 5 connected to a shaking mechanism 8 which connected to an upper axis 18 at a first connecting position 11, connected to the upper feeding leg 3 at a second connecting position 12, and connected to the holding leg 4 at a third connecting position 13. The connecting member 6 is composed in a way that the first connecting position 11 is adjustable against the second connecting position 12 and the third connecting position 13.
