PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video signal output apparatus for outputting a video signal while considering the shape of a monitor by which a recorded program is viewed. SOLUTION: The video signal output apparatus is provided with: a recording reservation setting means (36b) for setting the recording reservation of a broadcast program to be received; a broadcast receiving means (27) for receiving a broadcast program based on the set recording reservation and outputting a first video signal; a video signal output format setting means (33) for setting an output format of the video signal concerned with the broadcast program whose recording is reserved; and a video signal output means (45) for outputting a second video signal in accordance with the set output format.
