A signal transmission system serves to activate at least one power semiconductor switch (S₁, S₂, , S_n) starting from a controller (11). Each power semiconductor switch (S₁, S₂, , S_n) is connected to an activating electrode driver stage (G₁, G₂, ..., G_n), and at least one activating signal can be transmitted from the at least one modulator (M₁, M₂, ..., M_n) to each of the activating electrode driver stages (G₁, G₂, , G_n) via a second transmission path (4).
