PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an actuator usable under environment subject to much dust and directly in a water jet flow without problems. SOLUTION: The actuator comprises a hollow member 27, a screw 25 stored and arranged on the inner peripheral side of the hollow member 27 and adapted to be rotationally driven, a nut 29 stored and arranged on the inner peripheral side of the hollow member 27 and threaded to the screw 25, a piston portion 41 stored and arranged on the inner peripheral side of the hollow member 27 and fixed to the nut, a driving side magnet portion 60 provided on the piston portion 41, a slider portion 71 movably arranged on the outer peripheral side of the hollow member 27 in its rotation restricted state, and a driven side magnet portion 82 provided on the slider portion. The nut and the piston portion are moved in a proper direction by rotationally driving the screw 25.
