The device has light emitting diodes (11-13) with which two light functions with different light currents are provided. Two inputs (2, 3) are provided for input signals for the light functions, and an output (4) displays a control signal for one of the diodes. Impulse signal sensors (9, 10) produce two pulse-width modulation clock pulse signals for the light functions of the diodes depending on the input signals. An independent claim is also included for a method for controlling a lighting equipment of a vehicle.
