PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a copy processing technique of a data processing system that allows simultaneously achieving long distances and preventing data losses in the event of a disaster. SOLUTION: At a production site, a local site, and a remote site, remote copies from a disk array device 600 of the production site to a disk array device 620 of the remote site are achieved via a disk array device 610 of the local site over a long distance without data losses by combination of synchronous remote copies with asynchronous remote copies. The disk array devices 610, 620 of the local site and the remote site provide copies using their replica functions. Should the production site suffer a disaster, business can be continued by means of the local site having the same data and the remote site located a long distance from the production site.
