PURPOSE:To provide an epoxy resin compsn. for prepregs which can give composite materials having an excellent moist heat resistance, a high reinforcement utilization and a high post-impact compression resistance, by blending together a bifunctional epoxy resin, a trifunctional epoxy resin, a specific phenolic compd. and another component as the essential components. CONSTITUTION:The title compsn. contains the four following components A-D as the essential components. The component A is a bifunctional epoxy resin and the component B is a trifunctional epoxy resin. The component C is a phenolic compd. of formula 1 (wherein X1-X8 are each Br, Cl, or H, provided that at least 4 groups among them are each Br or Cl; and R1 and R2 are each H or CH3). The compound D is 4,4'-diaminodiphenyl sulfone or 3,3'- diaminodiphenyl sulfone. Reinforcing fibers are further incorporated into the above-mentioned compsn.
