<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently detect whether a face area is included in an input image. <P>SOLUTION: A corrected input image generating part 501 adds predetermined image noise different in vector direction from a face image feature vector to an input image to generate a corrected input image, and a face detecting part 506 detects whether there is a face area in the input image from an angle formed by a normalized feature vector resulting from normalization of the feature vector of the corrected input image generated and a normalized feature vector resulting from normalization of the face image feature vector. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
