A method for transmission of a data steam in which the transmitter and the receiver have mutually independent time-bases, the transmitter transmits a definite number (A1) of data protocols per fixed time-interval of the transmitter and in the receiver (2) per time-interval of the receiver, the number (A2) of data protocols received by the receiver are analyzed , and in the receiver (2) on the basis of the ascertained number (A2) of data protocols per time interval (T2) of the receiver, a time-wise assignment of the position of the data protocols sent by the transmitter is carried out at the scanning /sampling time-point(s) expected by the receiver.
