PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wire saw for cutting-off stone and concrete, in which abnormal wear of a super-abrasive grain layer and a coating member is prevented, and its life is elongated by driving the wire saw at a proper speed achieved by preventing the slip of the wire saw and securing the frictional resistance between a driving pulley and the wire saw even when the wear of the super-abrasive grain layer has developed. SOLUTION: A plurality of beads, which are provided with a super-abrasive grain layer on an outside periphery of a cylindrical base metal, are fitted on a wire rope. A plurality of the beads are fixed to the wire rope by means of coating members. Further, the coating members have stepped portions by arranging large diameter portions having the diameter larger than those of the middle portions at both end portions of the coating members arranged between the beads. At least the large diameter portions neighboring the trailing side in the moving direction of the beads are intermittently formed in the peripheral direction. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
