The invention relates to a galvanic element which comprises at least one lithium-intercalating electrode based on carbon, which electrode contains synthetic mesophase graphite and natural graphite. Preferably, the graphite is a mixture of a synthetic mesophase graphite and natural graphite, whereby a mixture containing equal parts by weight is especially advantageous.
