PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operation input device capable of shortening a harness connecting a sensor and a control means, and also, capable of efficiently transferring a detection signal of the sensor to the control means in the operation input device which is mounted to a device provided with a control means for executing prescribed processing on the basis of the detection signal of the sensor. SOLUTION: The operation input device is provided with a code generating part 30, which generates a sensor state code showing states of the sensor 34 when an operation key 20 is not operated, and also, generates a key code corresponding to the operation key 20 when the operation key 20 is operated, a storage means, which stores the sensor state code when the sensor state code is generated, and also, stores the key code generated instead of the sensor state code when the key code is generated, and a panel IC 29 which transfers the sensor state code or the key code stored in the means to a control part 3.
