PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-function electrophotographic photoreceptor which is free of light scattering and reflection, is low in surface energy and excellent in surface slipperiness and sustains these surface characteristics in duration and to provide an image forming apparatus using the photoreceptor. SOLUTION: The electrophotographic photoreceptor having at least a photosensitive layer on a conductive support contains a compound having a substituent A expressed by general formula (1) in the photosensitive layer. In the formula, R<SP>1</SP>, R<SP>2</SP>, and R<SP>3</SP>respectively represent 1-80 straight-chain saturated aliphatic hydrocarbons which may be respectively different from each other, provided that any one among R<SP>1</SP>, R<SP>2</SP>, and R<SP>3</SP>may be hydrogen atom and n represents an integer from 0 to 4.
