A sorting system for non magnetic closures, e.g. for supplying a closure fitting machine, has the closures dropped into a bottom bin from where they are lifted by an endless belt (1) with transverse grips (11) which lift the closures singly up a steeply inclined slope. Wrongly aligned closures are removed from the belt via scrapers and the correctly aligned closures are directed into parallel feeds (23) which lead to the fitting machine. The scrapers and other fittings are easily adjusted to handle different shapes and sizes of closures.
