<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a binocular microscope apparatus constituted in such a manner that stereoscopic observation is made possible and the operation of the binocular microscope can be assisted. <P>SOLUTION: The binocular microscope apparatus is equipped with the binocular microscope 10 having an imaging optical system 1 which forms at least two optical axes having parallax with an observation object, forms the image of the observation object on at least two corresponding imaging devices and has positive refracting power over the entire part and a three-dimensional reconstruction section 31 which reconstructs three-dimensional shape data of the object by searching corresponding points from the parallax images picked up by at least two imaging devices 4<SB>1</SB>and 4<SB>2</SB>. The binocular microscope system has a driving control section 34 for controlling the posture and focus of the binocular microscope 10 based on the three-dimensional shape data of the object reconstructed by the three-dimensional reconstruction section 31. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
