<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus equipped with a developing apparatus where developer is surely peeled off a developing sleeve, and the developer is satisfactorily stirred and supplied to the developing sleeve, then, the uniform image density is maintained. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is equipped with the developing means having the developing sleeve for developing an electrostatic latent image on a photoreceptor, and a developer stirring/carrying part for holding a carrying screw for supplying the developer to the developing sleeve and carrying the developer in a rotating shaft direction, and a stirring screw placed opposite to the carrying screw through a partitioning wall so as to stir and carry the developer in a direction opposite to the carrying direction of the carrying screw, the developer stirring/carrying part is provided with at least a communication port for delivering the developer in a non-image area in the rotating shaft direction of the developing sleeve, and a distance between the carrying screw and the developing sleeve is set to be 2.5 to 4mm in the image area. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
