PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital still camera in which an image can be easily prevented from being blurred by a camera shake caused by pressing a shutter of the digital still camera. SOLUTION: While an imaging section functions in an auto focus mode under control of a control section 105, the imaging section 102 receives an imaging instruction at predetermined time intervals, images an object and outputs image data thereof to the control section 105. The control section 105 sequentially records the image data inputted from the imaging section 102 into a buffer 103 and displays images thereof on a display section 104. If it is detected that a user presses a shutter in an operating section 101, the control section 105 reads out the latest image data recorded in the buffer 103, displays the image data on the display section 104 and stores the image data in an image storage section 106, thereby storing image data just before a camera shake is incurred by the shutter pressing operation.
