PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radio type data carrier system where a sufficient sensitivity can be obtained regardless of a long distance between a transmitter as well as a portable receiver and the responder is small-sized and signal processing is possible, even if there are a plurality of responses to one inquiry. SOLUTION: The radio type data carrier system has a transmitter 10, having a transmission antenna 13 and a portable receiver 30 which is arranged in a magnetic field area of the transmission antenna 13 and has a receiving antenna 31, and a responder 2 having a resonance circuit of a radio waves oscillated by the transmission antenna 13 and a switch circuit for giving a load modulation signal to the resonance circuit, corresponding to data held in itself passes or is arranged on the way from the transmission antenna 13 to the reception antenna 31, which is in the magnetic field region.
