<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sound image localizing apparatus for considerably reducing a computational complexity for localizing a sound image more than that of prior arts. <P>SOLUTION: The sound image localizing apparatus for convoluting an impulse response of each path from an optional sound source position to a left ear and a right ear of a listener on an audio signal and generating localization audio signals for left and right channels, so as to localize a sound image resulting from reproducing the localization audio signals on the sound source position, applies down-sampling to the audio signal localized to the sound source position behind the listener and thereafter convolutes the impulse responses on the audio signals, so as to be able to reduce the computational complexity of a signal processing means for carrying out convolution of the impulse response without losing a sense of localization of the sound image. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
