PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an asphalt material which enables a pavement to keep a flowing water speed of a surface higher and keep drainability longer. SOLUTION: This asphalt material contains asphalt and a water repellent polymer with a mass equivalent to 5-40% of the mass of the asphalt. The water repellent polymer enhances water repellency of a surface of the asphalt material, and the asphalt material is equipped with a surface which allows the easy rolling of the water, that is, a surface which allows the easy and rapid movement of the water. This can bring about the pavement wherein the water flowing speed is kept higher on the surface and an asphalt surface in a void, and wherein the retention of particles is suppressed.
