PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a head mounting type display capable of viewing an image stably with no strange feeling in similar sense as viewing an ordinary installation type display. SOLUTION: The head mounting type display comprises a see-through image display section 6 for projecting an image to the eyes of a viewer as a virtual image, angular speed sensors 81 and 84 being employed for detecting the inclination angle of head of the viewer, and an LCD driver 105 and first and second CPUs 111 and 112 for controlling the image being displayed at the see-through image display section 6 to be moved by an amount corresponding to a detected angle reversely to the detected inclining direction of head of the viewer when variation in angle within a predetermined time reaches a predetermined threshold so that the position of the virtual image is substantially fixed when viewed from the viewer, and controlling the threshold to increase when the inclination of head varies in reverse direction.
