<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently discriminate and estimate a normal operation state and a defective state from limited sensor signals, and to estimate the factor when any failure is generated, and to efficiently execute the performance verification, failure detection, failure prediction and failure diagnosis of this system, and to reduce energy consumption and maintenance costs. <P>SOLUTION: A statistical analyzing means 3 uses process variable connection weighting parameters "a<SB>11</SB>, a<SB>12</SB>to a<SB>mp</SB>" to perform the principal component analysis of process result data, and prepares a principal component score "Z<SB>m</SB>" by reducing the number of variables.
