摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for designing a member of TGF-&beta; superfamily including morphogenic proteins through recombination, chemical synthesis and/or biosynthesis of the protein, and an improved method for producing it successfully. <P>SOLUTION: In the chimeric protein of TGF-&beta; superfamily derived from at least two different members of TGF-&beta; superfamily, the chimeric protein comprises a dimer, wherein one monomer comprises a finger 1 subdomain, a finger 2 subdomain and a heel subdomain, wherein the finger 2 subdomain is derived from a first member of the superfamily and the finger 1 subdomain or the heel subdomain is derived from a different second member of the superfamily, wherein the monomer furthermore comprises a conserved C-terminal cysteine skeleton. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
