PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermoplastic resin-reinforcing carbon fiber imparted with a sizing agent excellent in bonding property with a polypropylene resin matrix. SOLUTION: This thermoplastic-reinforcing carbon fiber is obtained by imparting a modified polyolefin resin having at least 1 kind selected from an ethylene-propylene copolymer, a propylene-butene copolymer, and an ethylene-propylene-butene copolymer as a main chain, graft-modified by maleic acid anhydride and a (meth)acrylic acid ester and having 15,000-150,000 weight-average molecular weight.
