PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a glass bottle with a shrinkable label that allows the easy detection of the bottle's being broken. SOLUTION: The glass bottle 1 has the shrinkable label 2 fitted around its body portion 7, thus constituting the glass bottle 1 with a shrinkable label 2, wherein, a truncated portion 8 is provided between the body portion 7 and a bottom portion 9, the lower end 2b of the shrinkable label 2 is locked at the truncated portion 8 or the bottom portion 9, and a plurality of vertical grooves 10 are formed around the body portion 7 of the glass bottle 1, with the upper ends 10a of the vertical grooves 10 located downward of the upper end 2a of the shrinkable label 2 and the lower ends 10b of the vertical grooves 10 located upward of the lower ends 2b of the shrinkable label 2, while the shrinkable label 2 is provided with communicating holes 20, 21 at the locations in the vicinity of the lower end 10b of the vertical grooves 10 and at the upward positions a given distance upward from the positions in the vicinity of the lower end 10b, the holes communicating with the interior of the vertical grooves 10 and the outside.
