Producing analysis positions or spots in a microarray on a carrier, where the spots contain a polymer solidifying to a film and special molecules, comprises: (a) applying the spotting composition in flowable solution form onto the carrier; and (b) solidifying the polymer. An independent claim is also included for a spotting solution containing a polymer, which is solidifiable by a non-radical method, and the special molecules.
