PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable communication terminal for automatically securing a required available memory capacity without putting a user to trouble when it is nearly impossible to store any new file due to the increase of a use memory capacity. SOLUTION: This portable communication terminal is provided with a control part having a file storing means for storing a file attached with a time stamp in a memory and a file compressing means for selecting at least one of the files attached with old time stamps by referring to the time stamp when the available residual capacity of the memory is less than a prescribed quantity, and for compressing the file to reduce the file size.
