<p>The spaced layers (11, 12) are connected by floating spacer wires (15). These alternate from one layer to the other. In the intervening space, they are unattached. The structure (10) may include further layers, with equal or varied spacing. Spacing is determined by the length of the floating sections of the spacer wires. These are made from weft or warp wires (13, 14), the latter being in different materials. The spacer wires may be in a further different material. The spacers range over the same- or a differing number of warp and/or weft wires. Individual layers may have the same or different weave bonding.</p> |
