A system (6) for feeding hydrogen for a fuel cell (19), incorporating an anode (20) and a cathode (21) of the type comprising: (a) a first chamber containing a catalyser connected to a inlet conduit for a hydrocarbon based fuel and an outlet conduit for hydrogen; (b) a second chamber containing a catalyser connected to an inlet conduit for air and an outlet conduit for combustion gas. The catalyser is a selective cracking catalyser and a heat exchanger is mounted between the two chambers. An Independent claim is also included for the production of electric energy from a fuel cell fed by hydrogen using this feed system.
