摘要

An optical disk device has sheltering means for separating an objective lens (32) to a position away from an optical disk (1) during a break of an intermittent recording operation or reproducing operation. Further, means for restricting or fixing the position of the objective lens (32) at a sheltered position is provided. The structure enables to prevent a collision between the optical disk (1) and the objective lens (32) even in a non-controlled state during the break. As a result, both energy saving and safety of the device are simultaneously achieved.
