<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device that exhibits a stable fixing performance by reducing fluctuations in fixing temperature. <P>SOLUTION: When the fixing temperature at the entrance of the fixing nip in the fixing device is controlled, the size of a recording medium is detected (S4), and heat control is performed by the amount of electric power to be supplied to a heat source (S14) and corresponding to the detected size of the recording medium, thereby reducing fixing temperature ripples. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
