PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary electric component in which an operation axis can be mounted to the quadrature direction for the plane direction of a mounting substrate. SOLUTION: The rotary electric component is provided with a casing 4 having an accommodating section, an operation axis 1 which is projected to the external side from one end of the casing 4 and is held to the casing 4 to be rotatable, a signal detecting means for outputting electrical signal with operation of the operating axis 1, and a connecting terminal 5 which is projected in the quadrature direction to the axial line direction of the operating axis 1 from one side surface of the casing 4. A mounting member 9 having a relaying terminal 10 electrically connected to the connecting terminal 5 is provided in one side surface from where the connecting terminal 5 of the casing 4 is projected. One end of the relaying terminal 10 is provided so that one end of the relaying terminal 10 is extended in the projecting direction of the operation axis 1 from one end side of the mounting member 9. An engaging section 9c is formed to the mounting member 9 so that it is engaged with the mounting substrate 3 where the casing 4 is mounted. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
