<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmitter-receiver provided with a means for automatically measuring a state of a transmission medium ad a means capable of automatically setting a transmission speed, an output power or the both in response to the measured state of the transmission medium and revising the settings even after the settings. <P>SOLUTION: The transmitter-receiver is provided with an output power control section, an input power measurement section, a communication data processing section with a means for revising the transmission speed, and an information processing section for working out a path loss or a gain, and selecting the output power from a transmission section and the transmission speed of communication data or the both. A method for measuring the transmission loss or the gain of the transmission medium includes the steps of: the first transmitter-receiver transmitting information of the output power to the second transmitter-receiver; the second transmitter-receiver measuring reception strength when the second transmitter-receiver receives the information of the output power; the second transmitter-receiver reading the information of the output power; and estimating the transmission loss or the gain through the comparison between the reception strength and the information of the read output power by the second transmitter-receiver. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
