DEVICE AND METHOD FOR DATA REPRODUCTION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for data reproduction capable of deciding a reference level so as to optimize Viterbi decoder performance and simultaneously initializing an input level value so as to be strong against noise caused by tangential tilting and to normally operate the Viterbi decoder even when an input signal is in an abnormal state by optimally judging various signal characteristic of an optical disk. SOLUTION: The device and the method for data reproduction, using viterbi decoding applied to optical disk reproduction realized by a reference level optimizing channel characteristics are provided.
