ENVELOPMENT FOR GROWING NON-ENVIRONMENTAL POLLUTION PUMPKINS AND METHOD FOR GROWING PUMPKINS USING THE SAME

A method of growing clean pumpkins using a plastic bag having a body of an envelope shape with a length greater than the length of pumpkins and a fixing means for hanging to the stem is provided. It permits production of clean pumpkins which are uniform in size and have high commercial value. The plastic bag comprises: a body of an envelope shape having a length greater than the length of melons which have reached the harvest stage; and a fixing means formed at the upper part of the body to hang on the stem. The plastic bag has a size of 0.06 to 0.2mm in thickness, 5 to 9cm in width and 25 to 33cm in length and consists of 82% by weight of polypropylene resin with a melt index of 3 to 10g/min at 185deg.C, 6% by weight of sorbitan fatty acid esters, 7% by weight of an antifogging agent and 5% by weight of white carbon. The plastic bag is opened in all or part to allow good air circulation. The clean melons-growing method consists of: covering the plastic bag to the stem when the melons reach 5 to 10cm; and harvesting melons 10 to 15 days after covering with the plastic bag.
