PURPOSE: A washing method of a washing machine is provided to correct detection deviation of a conductivity calculating unit by choosing a proper correction data according to the peripheral temperature and to detect accurately conductivity of the water by compensating the change of a detection value according to the peripheral temperature. CONSTITUTION: A washing method of a washing machine is composed of steps for detecting temperature around the washing machine(S1); detecting the temperature of the water by a temperature sensor(S3); sensing potential difference of the water by an electrode sensor and computing conductivity of the water by a conductivity calculating unit from the detected potential difference(S4); choosing correction data for correcting detection deviation of the conductivity calculating unit according to the peripheral temperature(S5,S6); executing correction of the conductivity calculating unit by the chosen correction data(S7); calculating hardness of the water and the amount of detergent with the corrected conductivity and temperature of the water(S8); and executing a washing course by setting a washing algorism according to the calculated value(S9,S10).
