PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems that changeover operation is difficult and maloperation is readily caused to complicate even the constitution, or the like, because a changeover guide rod of a waste culm apparatus and a changeover plate of a cutter port are changed over and rotated to a waste culm passage part and maintained in the relationship so as to easily cross each other in changeover of the changeover guide rod and the changeover plate due to the installation of both the cutter port of a waste culm cutter facing to the lower side of the waste culm apparatus and a waste culm dropper at the terminal end in a conventional combine harvester. SOLUTION: The subject waste culm operation apparatus of the combine harvester is composed as follows. The changeover plate 4 rising, falling, rotating and performing the changeover from a state of a cutting treatment for guiding the waste culms to the cutter port 5 on the lower side and a dropper operative state for guiding the waste culms to the rear dropper 6 is installed between a waste culm chain 1 for unloading and feeding the threshed waste culms and the waste culm cutter 3 on the lower side thereof. The changeover guide rod 8 housed on the front side of the waste culm cutter 3 in the transverse direction in the state of the cutting treatment and approaching and moving from the housed posture so as to pass along the undersurface of the waste culm chain 1 during the changeover to the dropper operative state is installed.
