PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a freezing and refrigerating unit and a refrigerator using the same, preventing the breakage of a compressor by operating the compressor in the state of its working rage while using high boiling point refrigerant having refrigerant theoretical efficiency and compressor effective efficiency. SOLUTION: A condensing temperature detecting means 28 is provided as an operation control of the rotating speed variable compressor 21 for detecting a condensing temperature. A protection control means suppresses the rotating speed of the rotating speed variable compressor 21 when the condensing temperature detected by the condensing temperature detecting means 28 is higher than a preset temperature. Thus, the compressor can be operated in the state of its working range and so the breakage of the compressor is prevented. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
