PURPOSE: A method for performing the function of an electronic dictionary in an optical disc apparatus are provided to store words, previously searched, and its corresponding regeneration time data with an ID of an optical disc if any, and to output an electronic dictionary search result at a repetitive regeneration of a corresponding image. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises several steps. In a case that an electronic dictionary function is performed while data recorded at an optical disc is being regenerated, the ID of an optical disc, regeneration time data, and record position of searched content are stored(S22). Referring to the ID of the optical disc and the regeneration time data, the content on the searched word is regenerated(S31,S32). The regeneration time data is a presentation time stamp of data stored at the optical disc corresponding to the time when the electronic dictionary was performed.
