In a hand-guided impact drilling machine which is driven electropneumatically and is equipped with a tool holder for percussion drill bits having a multi-groove shank as well as for purely cylindrical drill bits, optimum transfer of the kinetic energy of the anvil to the tool shank while avoiding simultaneous acceleration of the tool holder is to be obtained. For this purpose, the invention provides for anvil (9) and plunger (11) to embody a construction unit, and for the plunger to have on the tool side a collar-shaped widened portion (14) which is guided in an inner bore (15) of the chuck body (16) of the tool holder and to which the end face (10'') of the sliding-guide section (10') of the spindle sleeve is allocated as rear stop limit and a narrowed portion (15') of the inner bore in the chuck body is allocated as front limit, and for the anvil/plunger unit to be guided in such a way as to be locked against rotation in the tool holder, which is fastened to the spindle sleeve (10) in such a way as to be locked against axial displacement. <IMAGE>
