<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To estimate the vision and sensitivity according to the diameter of a pupil in the daily life of the examinees. <P>SOLUTION: An arithmetic part receives the measurement data indicating the distribution of refractivity in an eye to be examined and the data of the diameter of the pupil of the eye to be examined to determine the lower and higher order of aberrations based on the measurement data and the data of the diameter of the pupil (S101-105). For example, the pupil edges are detected from the images of the respective anterior ocular segments to determine the diameter of each of the pupils, which is used to determine the lower and higher aberrations. The arithmetic part carries out a retinal image simulation using a target with a high or low contrast based on the lower and higher order of aberrations and estimates the vision by comparison of the results with the template (S107). Otherwise, the arithmetic part determines a contrast sensitivity based on the lower and higher order of aberrations obtained. Then, the arithmetic part outputs the proper data such as the vision, the sensitivity, and the result of the simulation to a memory or a display part (S109). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
